Park Day

Yesterday was Sunday and the weather was pretty amazing, seeing that it's technically winter time. We took the kids straight from gan to the park. In our experience, any stop at home equals disaster, so I had all the diapers, snacks and water bottles ready to go at pick-up.
Lev's first stop whenever we go to the park is to roll down the small grassy hills which greet us upon entering Gan Sacher. He can spen 20 minutes just rolling down and climbing back up. Esite will join him for a bit, but sooner rather than later, she wants to get to the sand park area.
Now that Lev knows a bit of Hebrew, he's super excited to use it at the park. I was sitting on a bench nursing Chaya Bracha when Lev approached a group of guys who might have been in their late teens and pointed to Estie. 'Zot Estie,' (That's Estie') he kept saying, unable to get their attention. Finally, I said to them, 'He wants you to know that that's his sister, Estie.' Once he had their attention, he asked them their names and told them his. He was so proud of himself (and so were we).
Eventually , after some runner, jumping and dog petting,we made it to the sand park area, where the city had decided to dump a pile of new sand and just leave it for the kids to spread around the area. Some kids must have dug out the inside and now the children are enjoying using it as a fort. Lev borrowed a digging toy and spent the rest of the afternoon in the sand. He became one with the sand in a way that only a bath could separate. Estie, on the other hand, schlepped Shalom to every swing, slide and other park equiptment before going to the outdoor gym section of the park where she 'worked out' for the rest of the afternoon.
These kids are amazing and the fact that we can go to the park at the end of January is just crazyness.
