When we bought the bunk bed we opted for a pullout drawer below the bottom bunk which could be for storage or an extra mattress. Since Michael is in the big crib and Chaya Bracha has been on the floor on a mat I figured we might as well make use of the spare bed until we buy a second bunk bed. I used one of the mattresses from Savta Bubbie's bed (there are three) and now she has a big girl bed of her own ;)
