A rare shot of the proud parents

Today we took a trip to the zoo. Lev takes these trips very seriously. He chooses the animals he'd like to see ahead of time and then we follow the map to get there. He wouldn't even let Nama touch the map. Check him out, plotting his course.

Still clutching the map

He put the map in my backpack so he could eat his snack, but still wouldn't allow Nama to hold it for him.

This was the first trip to the zoo that I felt Estie actually appreciated where we were. She walked a lot and looked at all of the animals. It was cute to see. She's really a big girl.

There is this new fish exhibit and, only in Israel, I promise you that people were letting their kids pet the fish. Poor fish :(

Ice cream! Can't go to the zoo without an ice cream stop. Lev is now aware that there are more choices than just fruit bars, so he chooses chocolaty treats and, while I used to get away with slipping Estie the fruit ones anyway, now I need to get her whatever he's having. Ahh, big kids.

This was a take 2 of the Lego menorah building. It was way to hectic the other day, but today there was a smaller group and tons of Lev's friends were there. The only downside was that a smaller group of kids meant more chocolate coins for Lev and Estie to stuff in their pockets.

Shelly, Clara, Yehudah and Lev. I asked them to hug for a picture and it ended in a three-kid- pile-up.

Mr. Peanut. Lev loves the costumes that Cousin Joshua sent

The kids were flipping out on a sugar high (we did get some tofu and broccoli in there at one point), so Nama and Daddy took them out for a tour of the local Channukah menorahs

Lev and Estie got MORE chocolate from our neighbor (though we're saving it for tomorrow) and even enjoyed some dancing.
