Today, Doobies' class made latkes, and the girls helped me and some other school board members paint signs for teacher appreciation day, which is celebrated in Israel tomorrow. We have organized a big breakfast and for parents to come in and take over classes for a full period, so the teachers can enjoy a break and some yummy food, while the kids make them appreciation cards.
I am so proud that my kids have respect for all the school staff, including the cleaning staff. When I mentioned to Estie that her Saba Lev was a janitor at one point and he would be so proud of her for befriending the janitorial staff, her response was "Why wouldn't I?" I didn't have the heart to explain that some people consider themselves above others.
