We light candles every Friday before Shabbat and before major holidays. I light a candle for each family memeber and when the girls turn 3 they get a candle of their own to light (at 3, the boys get their hair cut for the first time and start wearing a kippa and tzitzit).
Since Chaya's Hebrew birthday was Saturday night, the first chance for her to light her own candle came pretty quickly- Sunday night as we welcomed the holiday of Sukkot.
Getting ready, super excited.
She needed a little help getting started
Blowing out the match might be more fun than lighting the candle. Not sure.
Saying the blessing over the candle (she's been doing this with me for a while, but now she gets to say it over her very own candle!)
So proud!
